PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. (WBTW) — The Chairman of the Georgetown County Board of Elections who is under investigation for stealing and damaging campaign signs resigned Wednesday.
Members of the Georgetown County Republican Party and the 7th Congressional GOP said they met with a man who wanted Trump campaign signs put in his yard, according to the incident report.
When the signs kept disappearing, the man put a deer camera in his yard and captured Rita Granito Smith, the wife of Georgetown County Board of Elections Chairman Dean Lyle Smith, taking one of the signs and writing “Dump” on another, deputies said.
Dean Smith was identified as the person who drove his wife to vandalize the signs, according to the incident report.
The person who provided the photos to the Georgetown County Republican Party and 7th Congressional GOP sent them anonymously via text message, deputies said.
Jason Lesley with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office said larceny and vandalism charges were filed against the couple. SLED is investigating the incident, according to Tommy Crosby.
“In order to not be a distraction during the very important upcoming general election, I resigned from the board at its meeting at 5:30 p.m. today,” Dean Smith said.

People like that need be put down. Dad should seek out attorney for new will. Write them out and give them a copy. Hopefully he has a ton of assets and leaves it all to a church or a conservative organization. If trump loses expect the dems to change the inheritance laws along with the income tax.

It just shows how crazy Democrats are. It’s nuts to destroy Trump signs. It’s a childish tantrum. It does show how successful the ChiCom paid propaganda machine has demonized Trump and his supporters as racists.
The reality is that the Democrats are communists. Our propaganda machine has to start planting the message that communists are worse than racists. To his credit, Trump is running on that theme.
Why are criminal allowed to skid free just by resigning?
What about criminal charges?
What really incenses me are professors that do something wrong and then are put on PAID leave, sometimes for more than a year.. What? are we rewarding them for their crimes?
