Almost 1,000 absentee ballots are sitting in a locked bin somewhere in the Guilford County Board of Elections waiting to be processed.
At least two voters in Greensboro, North Carolina, part of Guilford County, had no idea their ballots were sitting in that pile.
incent Gager, a 48-year-old Black man, and his 83-year-old father Nathaniel mailed in their ballots on September 4. They wanted to vote by mail to avoid exposure to Covid-19. Over a month later, neither man had any idea their ballot had been listed as "pending cure" -- which meant there was something wrong with them that would prevent them being accepted.
The issue was with their witness information, one aspect of North Carolina's voting rules that's been thrown into confusion amid efforts to ease voting amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
"I've been doing it the same way for years," Gager said of his father's ballot. "I sign his. I'm his son. I'm his witness. And no one ever said his ballot wouldn't count."
A mismatched signature or missing envelope can lead to mail-in ballots getting thrown out. But ballot "curing" is the process where voters can correct these mistakes, to make sure their votes are counted. States have different "curing" mechanisms -- some automatically notify voters about problems, while other states force voters to proactively follow-up with election officials.

Statewide, Black voters make up only 16% of total ballot returns, but they account for almost 40% of the ballots labeled as "pending" or "pending cure."
Gager thinks what happened to his ballot has something to do with efforts to suppress the Black vote in the state. "They're just doing it in the open, deliberately," he said.

That’s exactly the point.
Democrats were encouraged to vote by mail. I suspect there is a nefarious purpose for it like showing up on Election Day and voting again on a provisional ballot.

The Republican true conservative run Legislature stopped them. Specifically the Speaker of the NC House, and 2 federal judges.

You have that correct— the “second harvest” consolidation of ballots in select counties. In 2016 it was Durham County that was a week late in “counting” newly “discovered” ballots.
They wait to see how many they need-— then commence.

The Democrats have made a major strategic error. They believed that Vote By Mail would deliver a victory, especially once COVID-19 showed up. They were so confident that they scrapped their Get Out The Vote machine. That machine would collect the Black Voters at their Black Churches and neighborhoods, drive them to the polling place and give them detailed instructions on how to vote for Democrats. It has worked like a charm for years. Not this year.
Without the GOTV, they can’t get the votes to the mail box. And then when they get them to the Courthouse, the ballots have errors, many of them fatal.That’s why they wanted the counting to continue until they win. The courts are shutting down that scheme, so they are in trouble.
Well, you see, blacks are statistically more like to fill out the ballots incorrectly. So those dastardly racists are just pulling all the incorrectly-filled out ballots, knowing that this will disproportionately affect black voters.
Here come the excuses
The fraud of the unsolicited mail in ballots has also been stymied-— having nothing to do with race at all.
It has been discussed that the USPS marks the mail in ballots (which already have scan codes on the ballots, as to what party, and in the case of bulk mail out of fake blanks- the ballots have a code directing to “locations” where they can be bulk manipulated/filled out).
The bulk sorting machines read the scans and re-label using invisible flourescent dye which sorts the mail to pre-arranged locations.
So it is said— a “BLOCK CHAIN” of fake ballots.
ONLY— the US Postal Inspectors have largely eliminated the fraudsters (which was developed/programmed by the Union of the sorters— so it is said— thugs doing this, and a federal crime). All this from some very sophisticated “zero hedge” types and dripped out over twitter.
Man blacks can’t do squat without a Government helping hand. Would that make them an inferior race?
Goes along with my theory that all of this is designed to create as much chaos as possible and have the election go to the courts.
They will declare any Trump victory, even a tsunami, to be illegitimate.
Second part of the plan is the mau mau campaign to be launched after the election is declared "stolen" as happened with soetoro's involvement in the 2006 Kenya election.
