Stan Richards, the founder of The Richards Group, made the remarks during a virtual meeting held on Oct. 8, in order to preview a Motel 6 commercial that was intended to celebrate Black artists, according to sources from the Richards Group who spoke with Ad Age.
Richards had also stated that the ad would turn off Motel 6s significant white supremacist clients, according to the source.

Soon there won't be any white folk left in commercials. It seems that commercials are on the forefront of social “justus”

I doubt anyone said those words.

It seems that commercials are on the forefront of social justus What, mixed race couples are not more common than non mixed race couples? And are you saying that Gay couples don't comprise most couples? Oh, and why are they showing commercials about HIV treatments, does most of the population now require those?

They went too far with the proposed slogan:

I don’t watch TV. From my perspective, TV and its content don’t exist.

Other than pure pandering, what possible reason could Motel 6 have for producing an ad “intended to celebrate Black artists”?
Tom Bodett isn’t good enough for them anymore?
To: Meatspace
I was going to sa6 lets support him and the agency how we can, but then he actually stated that Motel 6 has a very high % of white-SUPREMACIST clients?
What the hell is that supposed to mean?
So is he being booted for offending blacks, or offending Motel 6 that it is basically a white-fascist business?

I’m with them. That’s a boneheaded thing to say. If I contract with a firm to make an ad that featured demographic group X and then the head of that firm says it’s too group X he’s an idiot. Let’s not even get into the “white supremacist clients” comment. That’s just dumb.

Blacks are way overrepresented in today’s TV ads, and of course virtually every one is depicted as living in an upscale neighborhood driving an upscale car.
To: Meatspace
I stayed in a Motel 6 for $6.95 per night when they first opened. That is why they were named Motel 6. You paid extra if you wanted TV, phone, etc.
