What are you jumping on me for?

I’ve just always thought it funny that the Canadian border was a mere marker.

Sheesh.

Canoeing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area- paddle out, check into a Canadian office on an island and then go on with the trip. There are several portages where you’ll love see little Bronze markers embedded along the trail indicating US or Canada. I think it only matters if one country has a fire ban.

Th US-Canadian border is the longest unsecured border in the world. I used to canoe in the Boundary-Waters and would cross into Canada. No passport.

There was one place where a gal lived on an island in Canada and had a shop of sorts. It was in the better-traveled part of the canoeing area. You could buy a postcard and she would stamp it with a passport stamp. I was just a kid when we went there, so I don’t know if it was her official stamp or just some gimmick.
