The problem is that SC is an open primary, so all the rats vote to keep Grahamnesty. Most times they don’t even run a candidate of their own. The SC conservatives need to end that practice if they ever want to get rid of Lindsey.

but, for now, pubbies are stuck holding their noses and voting to have Graham betray the country for another 6 years.

If by “most times democrats don’t run a candidate against Graham” you meant “They run a candidate against him every single time” then you are correct.

As for his primary challengers, they’ve been weak and had no hope against Graham open primary or not. This year he had only token opposition because THE PRESIDENT ENDORSED HIM. He got 2/3s of the primary vote.

More conservative members of the House delegation who might have been able to beat Graham in the primary have shyed away from running.
