And how do Indian coders look upon the average American? As lower rank?
Did Kamala Harris grow up exposed to ranking, by her Indian mother (a Berkeley grad)?
The don't think about American software developers because there are none in SillyCornhole Alley.
My experience with Indians is that they definitely look down on all Americans. We’re not as good as they are and they don’t want to associate with us any more than they have to.
In 2010, I applied for a telecom opening in Jacksonville, Fl. through monster.com. There were fully 7 companies representing that position. I sent resumes to all 7, 6 of which had Indian recipients.
I got a call 10 mins later (literally) from the only non-indian I sent to.
She turned out to be a drop-dead gorgeous blonde and after a resume review and 3 interviews, I got the job.
I never received a call from the Indians. What this taught me was, Indians will look after Indians, even if you’re a white guy with serious qualifications.

IIRC her mothers family was upper caste with all the perqs and privileges that go with it. She certainly would have been exposed to it.
At work the top 4 managers are from India. Hired in the last 2+ years. My supervisor and manager are white guys. I bet they are worried about being replaced as the 4 above were.
I know if I leave then my replacement will be from a consulting company hired this year and they will not be blonde hair and from Minnesota.
