Speaking of which, two days ago mid afternoon, my iPhone suddenly produced this piercing alert noise that scared the crap out of me. thank God I wasn’t driving at the time. I looked at the phone and it was displaying an Emergency Alert notice about Covid reminding people to wear masks outside and stand 6-feet apart.
Are you kidding me! This drivel has been hammered by the press day in and out for the past 8 months and suddenly the city decides it needs to issue an alert. Damn.
Talk about crying wolf. This alert system is supposed to be used for actual emergency situations like tornadoes being spotted in the area or perhaps even something like a severe hailstorm that could be life threatening. To use the system to push out a notice to wear masks is abuse of the system and serves no purpose but to scare people.
I’m tired of this sh*t.
I turned those alerts off a long time ago. They are just propaganda tools, nothing more.
If there is ever something you really need to be alerted about, they won’t depend on people’s mobile phone alert settings to do it.
That’s ridiculous. They are so insulting of our intelligence. I turned those emergency notifications off. I don’t care of there’s a nuclear warhead incoming, I don’t need their stupid warnings. I’m prepred.
