Germany was one of those supposed “success stories”. Turns out, if you prevent anybody in your country from getting a highly contagious disease in March, there are a lot more people who can get that disease in October.
Their case numbers look terrible, much worse than March. Their deaths however are very low compared to march.
There was very little testing anywhere in March-April. What there was tended to be limited to in-hospital use. They have no idea what their test-positive rate would have been back then compared to today.
Its a funny situation. Tests are widely available now. The more you test the more you find; finding more you desperately test more, finding even more. Its hysterical actually.
We still have very little idea what the actual infection rate is now, because they aren’t testing everyone every day.
