Maine voters also favor Vice President Joe Biden over President Trump, 51-38 percent, although Biden's lead shrinks to 4 points in the 2nd Congressional District.

In what could be one of the final polls of the U.S. Senate race before Election Day, Democrat Sara Gideon continues to hold a narrow 3-point lead over Republican incumbent Susan Collins among likely Maine voters.

A survey of 879 individuals, developed and fielded by Colby College of Waterville, revealed that 46.6 percent of voters said they plan to vote for Gideon, compared to 43.4 percent for Collins. Independents Lisa Savage and Max Linn received 4.7 percent and 1.7 percent support, respectively, with 3.6 percent undecided. The poll was conducted Oct. 21-25 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.3 percentage points...

The President is going to win Maine, so this is a garbage poll—totally useless.

As much as we need the Senate to stay in GOP hands, Collins is just a bit of a drama queen. If we can hold the Senate, and Collins loses, it won’t be a disaster.

Maine has that stupid ranked-voting system though.
If there are any third-party Senate candidates it could turn into a crapshoot.

This poll was conducted by a liberal arts college.

I want to know why Collins even identifies as a Republican anymore. What does she gain by it?

Two of my kids graduated from Colby. One is a conservative, the other a liberal.

Yes and it was hard core leftists that pushed it. No real opposition from the Republican Party. It cost us a fine Republican Congressman in CD-2, Bruce Lee Poliquin.

She’s a left-winger to be sure. Socialist. But the ME Demonrat Party is dominated by deranged Stalinazi loons that makes Collins look like Jesse Helms by comparison. They hate her guts.

Gideon is a truly vile individual. that’s probably the only reason it’s this close. But Trump and his tear need to send resources to help keep Collins in there.

Each body of Congress is the ultimate arbiter of its members. If Collins wins a plurality of the vote and the ME Demonrats attempt to certify Gideon via this ranked system, the GOP should reject it and seat Collins (ditto for the Republican running against pretender Rep. Golden) citing “one man, one vote.” Otherwise this means that 3rd party voters are given TWO votes.

If Collins were a true Republican(instead of a RINO) she would have a comfortable lead. Backing the greatest president since Lincoln would prove to be the winning strategy, but she spends most of her time coddling lefties who won’t ever vote for her.

It cost us a fine Republican Congressman in CD-2, Bruce Lee Poliquin. Yup. Need to get rid of ranked choice, stupidest thing I've ever seen. Didn't he have over 40% of the vote and lost to someone with less?

Every time Collins casts a vote you do not like, take a look in the mirror.

It’s your fault that happened. Yours.

She represents her voters. She has never once failed to vote for the GOP candidate as Majority or Minority leader in the Senate, and that’s the most important vote any senator casts, ever.

But whenever you dislike a vote from her, look in the mirror. It is YOU that didn’t buy a ticket to Maine to walk the streets and persuade voters to become conservative. That was your failure, not hers.

She represents her voters. Why would you want someone who backstabs their voters?
