We have to win back the House and keep the Senate..if Trump wins but the Dems keep the House and win the Senate, Trump’s victory wont matter, he will be impeached day 1 for breathing

They can impeach him every day by a simple majority vote every day. But they’d never get 2/3 of senate for removal.

Trump will have a red tidal wave of coat tails

Well, the House may impeach him, but the Senate would have to get 67 votes to remove him. Not likely.

I would have to think if Trump wins then he at least carries the Senate with him.

No. That takes 60 votes. He will just veto everything they do. 😊

It really doesn't matter that much.

They only need a majority of the House to start impeachment, but they need 2/3 of the Senate to convict.

2/3 of the Senate is completely out of reach for both parties.

I can easily envision a "permanent impeachment trial" which would turn out to be a very public forum for DJT to promote his policies to the entire country. This would reflect poorly on the Dems.

The Dems will call him to the floor of the Senate and ask him about some made up charge, and he will answer by stating how many miles of wall he has completed. They will ask something else and he will expound on the benefits of fracking. No matter how many times they do this he will be able to answer by making statements that put him in the best light.

The Rs will never vote to impeach.

Keeping the Senate is key. What helps this is the lack of ticket splitting in recent presidential elections. If Trump wins a state with a Republican Senator running, the Senator has an edge. Maine can be lost by this measure but SC and AZ should be OK.
