Yes, I know they do. What I suspected, but didn't KNOW until now, was that there is an unspoken consensus ("think of it always, speak of it never") among ALL the members of the leadership in both parties that the Trump Show is over.

What the critical factor is here is that the government and political class has joined - as an interest group really - to say to the people that they only get the choice that the government allows them to have in an election. The people don’t get to choose...exactly like the old Soviet Union. There are going to be many many things now in this new Amerika that are exactly like the old Soviet Union...and the CCP China for that matter.
Government of, by and for the people has vanished from the face of the Earth.
Frankly, all of us alive today should literally be embarrassed in our own existence during this time. “A Republic if you can keep it”. We could not and are likely not willing, in our sloth and relative living comfort, to do what is necessary to restore it. We are tiny people, weak and like worthless in the judgment of history, and perhaps even in the eyes of God, for we have squandered and destroyed our inheritance. We have shown ourselves to be unworthy of even governing ourselves in the most minimal manner.
We should walk in shame because we are naked in the eyes of history. WE were the ones who gave up the Republic and gave our children communism to inherit from us. Our shame is monumental.
