It would be problematic enough if Barr were reversing longstanding Justice Department guidance because of significant, substantiated claims of misconduct that could presumably be handled at the local and state level, said Stephen I. Vladeck, a professor at the University of Texas School of Law. Unless you presume that the state officials are in on it.

Voter fraud should be investigated whenever it happens. Before, after, during, should not matter. Why would you wait until after state certifications if the fraud would affect the outcome? Sounds like a stupid previous policy. I guess this guy that resigned had already been paid off and now he is a useless tool. Better he gets out of the way.

Too bad he wasn’t terminated like that idiot Esper.

Apparently Orange County and the Michigan State legislature looking into it is not good enough for him. /s

It’s good news he’s leaving... the reason the media claims there is no widespread election fraud is because this guy never did his job. He didn’t find any because he refused to look ...and likely squashed anyone under him who tried.

that could presumably be handled at the local and state level, said some professor
...That would be true... Unless... it was an inter-state, broader pattern. Trump and Barr know something.

As said on another thread:
Election Crimes Head: “It’s my job to investigate possible election crimes.”
Barr: “You are hereby authorized to investigate possible election crimes!”
ECH: “I quit!”

This is his actual job. His job isn’t to declare without an investigation that there’s “nothing to see there”. His job is to make sure there’s no problem.
That he is unwilling to do this is an indictment of being complicit at some level.

But to do so when there is no such evidence and when the presidents clear strategy is to delegitimize the results of a proper election, is one of the more problematic acts of any attorney general in my lifetime, Mr. Vladeck added. It it was me, I'd stick around just so I could rub his face in it when it was all proved a crock of bull.
But, that's me.
