The team believes it’s the reactive oxygen and nitrogen ions, formed as the plasma interacts with air, that are destroying the viral particle.

Is this much different than using an ozone generator. Ozone generators are inexpensive and readily available.

It might be about the same process, but it seems like you could use this to “target” those ions at a particular area to disinfect it, while an ozone generator is just spewing them on random trajectories into the room.
