Rare earth minerals.

Afghan mountains are full of them.

The Chinese are chomping at the bit to come in and get them. And the Chinese don’t care if Afghan girls go to school.

No they don’t. But I have to wonder if the Chinese will fare any better in Afghanistan than the Brits, the Russians, or us. Historically, Afghanistan is easy to invade and conquer, and very difficult to leave. They wear everyone down.

The Chinese can die for them then.

Besides we have plenty of Rare earth minerals and a by product of rare earth mining is thorium and that is the Future of non-renewable energy.
