DDOS:

1.) Cloudways provides DDoS prevention at its networking core.

2.) Keep updated:
WordPress installation
WordPress themes
WordPress plugins
PHP version on the server
Apache version
MySQL version
OS version
Any other script or software that you use

3.) Install a security plugin such as WordFence

4.) Add the following code into your .htaccess file:

Wordfence and updating are broader than DDOS although they are related. FR has custom DDOS which they do not reveal. My guess is they use automated iptables which is a feature in Wordfence which seems mainly manual, but can be scripted. Wordfence charges extra for country blocking and FR might do that as well (they can roll their own)

The core of the issue is what it takes to keep from being deplatformed. FR is ideal, all custom SW (no layers of insecure third party PHP), no reliance on external services that could be cut off. Wordfence may cut off access to their servers and it is not clear how that would affect the plugin's operation. You have to agree not to post "offensive" content as part of the terms of use.

I would certainly never recommend using Wordpress or anything like it for something like FR. It would be asking for trouble.

You are not reaching millions of people now. These tech companies are rigging the game against you while stuffing you into a digital ghetto. You think you are competing on a level playing field while they work behind the scenes to throttle your reach.

This is exactly what happened to the Donald on Reddit. They were throttled until they got annoyed enough to create their own site. The original Reddit site then got banned, and now they are thriving better than ever at their new home.

My post is that I am against anyone taking single instances from decades earlier to 'tar' the individual without showing a contemporary match of the same expression. I am not the same person that I was 33 years ago in all aspects and opinions. 33 years ago I believed that the Democratic Party still had sane people in office, now, not so much!
