Elizabeth Warren, Ed Markey slam Trump for nominating 1st Circuit appeals court judge after election

U.S. Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Edward Markey are calling on President Trump to withdraw his nomination for a new federal appeals court judge in Massachusetts, saying it was made during a “lame-duck session” after the presidential race was called in favor of his rival.

“Confirming the nominee during this lame-duck session would require Republicans to yet again violate longstanding Senate norms and rules,” the senators said in a statement Tuesday. “The White House should not be using its final days to try to rush through the nomination of a judge who will have a lifetime appointment to a court with jurisdiction over Massachusetts.”

Trump last Friday nominated Raúl M. Arias-Marxuach to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, which oversees Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Puerto Rico. Arias-Marxuach, who was appointed in 2019 as a U.S. District Court judge in Puerto Rico, has local ties — he received his undergraduate degree from Boston College before earning his J.D. from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law and a master of laws degree from Harvard Law School.

Tough titties, Gray Beaver. He’s still president for the time being, if not longer.

The covfefe is strong in these two.

The President is President until his last day in office. Baraq Soetoro pardoned terrorists up until his last day of office. President Trump is four years away from his.

Tough noogies, Warren and Markey!

Donald J. Trump’s first term doesn’t end until noon on January 20th, 2021, no matter what happens with the election challenges.

And they have NO right to be pissed. Jimmy Carter, as a lame duck, nominated Stephen Breyer ( now Justice Breyer), to the 1St Circuit Court of Appeals. The Senate confirmed Breyer ( in December, as I recall). It was a lopsided vote.

But for that appointment, probably no Justice Breyer today.

Well, ya gotta remember, Republican Presidents are only elected for 2 years. They have to implement the policies of the previous administration for the first year and the policies of the next administration for the fourth year. For that matter, they shouldn’t do anything during the year before an election year, either. So, Republicans are really only elected for 1 year.

"after the presidential race was called in favor of his rival."

Called by the despicable and feckless press.

Not by the law or the Constitution.

You mean like eliminating the filibuster?

Warrenhontas is considered too radical even for a Harris cabinet.

An obnoxious temper doesn’t help either. Crockajawea and Kameltoe would be at each other’s throats.

And it won’t be no love feast between Heels-up and Jill Biden, either. Only room for just one queen bee.
