I think Curtis Sliwa, founder of the Guardian Angels, is planning to run.

He is another racist black activist with commie leanings and a big mouth. He probably has a framed portrait of Al Sharpton in his living room.

I would be careful about that. Flew with a pilot in the AF years ago who, after an engine loss (C-130) said “well, what else could go wrong?” We lost another engine!

No. Another leftist is not an “improvement” over an incumbent leftist.

"Not quite sure Rudy would want to run again "

I worded it wrong. I meant Rudy's son.

If you live in NYC, support Curtis Sliwa for mayor.

The latest "feeling" I get from him is that he's not going to run as Mayor. I think he'd be best suited as an underling in some "weed out the bad guys" position. I do hope he gets a position.

>> any of the Trump kids would be a great choice and would have a great chance to win. <<

You realize NYC voted OVERWHELMINGLY against Trump in both 2016 and 2020, right? Hilderbeast got nearly 80% of the vote there. If Trump's kids would have a great chance there, perhaps Malia Obama would make an ideal candidate for Governor of Oklahoma. I'm sure the 28% of Oklahomans who voted for her dad will be able to deliver that state to her!

I certainly think Sliwa would have a better chance of winning in NYC than ANY of "Trump's kids", and as an added bonus, Sliwa is an ACTUAL conservative Republican (Jared Kushner and the rest of 'em are not). It will be a big uphill battle for anyone with an "R" next to their name to win the NYC mayoral race, but I'd take Sliwa over, say, Tiffany Trump any day.

Oh dear Lord, I forgot about the female children.

I hope Eric or Don Jr run for Mayor of NYC.

Aside from the chinaflu dictatorship, deblasio and cuomo are so busy destroying NYC right now, when they're done, people may want a change. Rudy did win, no reason another Republican can't win next.

Jeez Lousie. I doubt very very much Don J or Ivanka could win statewide in NY let alone for Mayor of the damn city.

Silwa would interesting, can’t see him winning either though. A black or Latino candidate might be best though.

BTW Borough President is pretty much a powerless sinecure now, I therefore see little point for their continued existence.

Eh, I imagine they fill lots of useless patronage jobs, and the GOP likes having Borough Presidents because they can claim Staten Island is still nominally under “Republican rule” and thus they are not completely shut out of city politics.

Far more obscure, the city of Chicago still technically has townships, just like suburban Cook County (even though Chicago township governments were abolished there in 1902), and the townships are still used for property assessment purposes. Nobody in Chicago cites what "township" they are from though, everything is organized by ward or neighborhood (e.g. when's the last time you heard a Chicagoan say they are from "Jefferson Township"?).

Chicago also still has the title of "Vice Mayor", which is supposedly the deputy mayor on paper, but whoever holds the honorary "office" of "Vice Mayor" has even less power than NYC's Borough Presidents, and won't become Mayor if the Mayor dies or resigns.

BTW, I just googled it, the current "Vice Mayor" of Chicago is Alderman Tom Tunney.
