“Scaringi filed a request to delay the hearing, noting its complexity, his status as new to the case and recent turnover in the Trump legal team.
“Having only been retained today, Plaintiffs’ new counsel need additional time to adequately prepare this case for the upcoming oral argument and evidentiary hearing,” Scaringi wrote in a court filing.
“...“Furthermore, this is a case of significant complexity and importance to the people of the United States of America,” he said. “And, further, the court record compiled in such a short period of time already contains 148 docket entries by Plaintiffs, multiple Defendants and multiple Intervenor Defendants.”
The judge refused to give Trump’s new counsel time to further prepare, sending what many would consider to be an outrageous and partisan message to the attorney, the president and the country.
Despite the fact that the case could determine who serves as America’s president, and one side has been amassing its argument for two weeks while the other is barely 24 hours into his role, Brann rejected the request.
“Oral argument will take place as scheduled, tomorrow, November 17, 2020,” the judge wrote. “Counsel for the parties are expected to be prepared for argument and questioning...."

They are delaying to block access to SCOTUS.
Yeah. The RAT Party.
“Don’t bother preparing. The court has already made up its mind.”
The Judge isn’t a Dem - he is a lifelong Republican, a Federalist Society Member, who spent 18 years on the Pennsylvania GOP Executive Committee. He was selected by Sen. Pat Toomey as part of a trade.
If Trumps team is delaying, it’s to force it beyond 12/14/2020. However, this judges actions is grounds for a successful appeal.
.............you beat me too it, my vast experience with civil judges in civil cases is that when they say something stupid like this it invariably means they have already made up their mind.....................
And is it grounds for appeal?
“They are delaying to block access to SCOTUS”
If you think SCOTUS is going to hear any of these cases, you are dreaming.
“ And is it grounds for appeal?”
These are all nonjusticeable political questions. The Constitution reserves these matters to the Congress, the USSC will never again make the mistake they made in agreeing to hear Bush v. Gore.
“If you think SCOTUS is going to hear any of these cases, you are dreaming.“
if you think SCOTUS will refuse to hear these cases, you’re a nutcase.
“Don’t bother preparing. The court has already made up its mind”
All the important decisions about ending the Trump Administration were made in the summer. Including the decision that the courts would rapidly dispose of any legal challenges.
Pennsylvania certifies its votes on Monday. Delaying the hearing would not have allowed Trump’s attorneys a chance to make their case before then. It’s not the judges fault that Trump’s lawyers kept quitting, and he refused permission for one of them to withdraw to keep continuity.
“ if you think SCOTUS will refuse to hear these cases, you’re a nutcase.”
Check back with me after cert is denied.
So you count GHWB 41 as the last previous Republican President, and don't count GWB 43 as one?
On it's own? Probably not. But I'm sure Giuliani will find additional reasons for appealing. It isn't ending here.
“Check back with me after cert is denied.“
Will do.
What’s outrageous or partisan about denying a motion for continuance and telling lead counsel to be prepared to argue? Particularly in a case like this that will become moot if it is not resolved within the next couple weeks.
LEFT office in 1989. REAGAN, he was the last. GH was a sell out to China. All this crap today is a direct result of GH Bush, the biggest mistake Reagan ever did was pick GH as his VP. We would have never had the Clinton criminal cabal, or his RINO son or the Obama caliphate nor all these enemies of the USA today in our government hellbent on its destruction. 28 years of corruption we are dealing with today, and they very well may succeed in ending this country.
