'Voting in Georgia when you're not a resident of Georgia is a felony,' secretary of state says
Georgia's top election official says he is opening an investigation into whether third-party groups are trying to register people from other states to illegally vote in Georgia's twin Jan. 5 Senate runoff elections, when the GOP's majority in the chamber is at stake.
Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced to reporters on Monday that "we have opened an investigation into a group called America Votes, who is sending absentee ballot applications to people at addresses where they have not lived since 1994."
Raffensperger, a Republican, also said his investigators are looking into "Vote Forward, who attempted to register a dead Alabama voter, a woman, to vote here in Georgia." He also spotlighted "The New Georgia Project, who sent voter registration applications to New York City."
The secretary of state also pinpointed “Operation New Voter Registration Georgia, who is telling college students in Georgia that they can change their residency to Georgia and then change it back after the election.”
Raffensperger emphasized that “voting in Georgia when you’re not a resident of Georgia is a felony. And encouraging college students to commit felonies without regard for what it might mean for them is despicable. These third-party groups have a responsibility not to encourage illegal voting. If they do so, they will be held responsible.”
Gabriel Sterling, the election official who manages Georgia’s voting system, told reporters that “this is new information, these outside groups attempting to register people illegally potentially, in other states.”
Sterling said that these third-party groups appear to be “literally saying ‘hey, it’s OK to commit a felony.’”

If they win (God forbid) we will hear “the debunked rumors” “the unproven accusations” “without evidence”,the “dispelled talk radio rumors” that the election wasn’t pristine and honest.
That is going to be really hard to take.

As hard as it may be for conservatives, the left is making a good case for abandoning our ingrained opposition to election fraud and cheating.

I know for a fact CA had a paid call center doing this.
Two problems. Registration must be 3 months before election. In a run-off, only voters who voted in the primary can vote in the run-off. So if their names are on the list of registered voters today, THEY CAN’T VOTE in the Senate runoff. Yet ANOTHER UNLAWFUL election by their own state laws.
‘names on the list’ should be ‘names not on the list’
With access to tax records, authorities could easily straighten that out. Of course that would require interest by law enforcement, not a former FBI agent. The Georgia Dept of Revenue should be interested. They could easily crosscheck voter registrations with Georgia tax returns. It appears to me that Georgia taxes all income levels, a 1% rate for incomd of $0 to $750. Standard deduction is $4,600/$6,000 single/joing, so most residents must file returns.
Should keep the Department of Revenue in Georgia busy. If you're only a resident part of the year, you pay Georgia taxes for that part of the year.
Can someone, ideally in Georgia, and with knowledge of the law answer this question . . .
Does GA law specify that for a ‘runoff or special election’ after the general you must have been on the voter rolls for the GE?

A FReeper posted once that he happened to maintain some contact with a guy he remembered in school all his young years. He cheated and cut corners on studying for years. The teachers told everyone "Being honest has its rewards in life. The cheaters in school will find they are left behind after they grow up because they didn't really learn."
The FReeper said the guy didn't really do any worse in his career and wage earning than the other people he knew from school. It didn't really matter.

A law that is not prosecuted is no law.
