Never answer your door if not specifically awaiting the arrival of invited family or invited friends.
A locked door and locked windows are essential barriers to maintain. Why voluntarily create a breach?
Police are not here to be our friends. They can send a letter, email, text, or call if they need to speak.

I have never understood friends telling me how they "arm-up" to answer an unexpected knock on the door or the doorbell.
My parents taught me to NEVER answer the door without peering from an undisclosed window to be assured of who is outside.
I do not even use the peephole. Seems smarter to use a window or glance at computer hooked-up to the camera.
