Maria Quiroz Became A U.S. Citizen In October, But Now The Documents To Prove It Are Missing In The USPS System

The pandemic delayed Maria Quiroz’s becoming a U.S. citizen, and then the U.S. Postal Service lost the documents she needs to prove she has done so.

For months, we have investigated missing mail and mail delays. On Thursday night CBS 2’s Tara Molina looked into internal issues at USPS – with Quiroz’s passport documentation stuck in a distribution facility for more than a month.

CBS has been investigating missing/delayed mail for months? I don’t remember ever seeing any news items related to that this year.

She doesn’t need to become a citizen. She can illegally vote, get a driver’s license, and even illegally collect welfare and live in public housing. She can get a job, a checking account, and even a home loan.

Citizens pay taxes. She doesn’t have to.

Question:

Why would a newly naturalized US citizen want a US Passport to exit and re-enter the USA?

To keep keep going back to the Motherland?

There is nothing wrong with visiting family. Also, I personally like having a U.S. Passport as it serves an an exceptional ID for job applications, etc.

I you had a Texas "Real ID" Driver License, you would have proven that you a US citizen with full documentation.

A Exceptional ID.

I had "Real ID" in Georgia. I lost it while moving to AZ. I was able to get an AZ driver's license, but not the AZ Real ID. Thankfully, I have my Passport as backup.

Years ago, just before my Canadian Father-In-Law died, I was cited for going to fast in a School Zone. In Illinois, your driver's license is your bond for such cases. They give you a piece of paper in the meantime, but that would not have done me much good for flying into Canada for the funeral. Thankfully I had a Passport, too.

Presumably just like you?

Heck, I pay for priority mail and that never goes as advertised anymore.

EVERYTHING is delayed with a shrug and a “in these uncertain times...” bs.

Tell Maria that she is now a citizen and can call her Congressman or senator and have it straightened out. Personally I think the senator would be more effective.

Her documents are probably in the gigantic pile of documents misplaced by the tens of millions of “undocumented” living in the USA.

I wish Amazon and other online sellers would allow a choice of shipper. But, you have to take what they decide is best.

Do you really believe that all naturalized citizens are grifters?

Most of the naturalized citizens whom I know are better patriots than at least 50 percent of the American population. Probably even you.

So you're stepping on a lot of conservative toes and you don't even know it.

And to preempt your obviously distorted thinking, my American roots go back to 1680 one one side, 1800's on the other.

I am not surprised. Everything I have ordered or sent is not yet to be delivered by the USPS.

Perhaps if they spent their time preparing for the Holiday rush instead of colluding with RATs to steal elections with truckloads of fake ballots, they may have done a competent job.

But nope, the chose unwisely and people are pissed.
