Michael O’Hanlon — an appointee to the Central Intelligence Agency External Advisory Board under the Obama-Biden administration — visited a Chinese Communist Party-run think tank identified by the U.S. government as conducting “undercover intelligence gathering” operations and seeking to coerce foreign actors into backing the Chinese Communist Party’s “preferred policies.” Also at the Director of the Brooking Institute’s Foreign Policy Research Team and adjunct professor at Georgetown and Columbia Universities, O’Hanlon visited the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC) on August 23rd, 2012 – the same year his Central Intelligence Agency’s (CIA) External Advisory Board stint ended.
Under President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, O’Hanlon served on CIA External Advisory Board, the brainchild of then-CIA Director Leon Panetta. It counted O’Hanlon as an advisor from 2011 to 2012.
Specifically, he paid a visit to the CAIFC’s Peace and Development Research Center, whose summary of O’Hanlon’s appearance noted he praised the center as one of the “most famous in China” and was “attracted by its reputation.”
“He came and hoped to hear opinions on Sino-U.S. relations and regional hot-spot issues from scholars of the center. The opinions he got may provide references for his book about Sino-U.S. relations which he was writing with Steinberg, former U.S. Deputy Secretary,” the summary added.

“The United Front strategy uses a range of methods to influence overseas Chinese communities, foreign governments, and other actors to take actions or adopt positions supportive of Beijing’s preferred policies,” the U.S.-China Security and Economic Review commission’s report added.
The report singled out CAIFC, noting it is a “front” for the Chinese military:
“CAIFC is a front for the former PLA GPD which may now report directly to the PLA Central Military Commission’s Political Work Department.”
“CAIFC has additional ties to the Ministries of State Security, Civil Affairs, and Foreign Affairs, and it is a platform for deploying undercover intelligence gatherers,” the commission adds.

A White House memo that details how Vice President Mike Pence is legally required to reject Electoral College votes from contested states.
Sources in the Trump administration confirmed to National File that President Donald Trump’s most vocal advocates within the White House have determined that both U.S. Code and the Constitution contain language that requires Vice President Mike Pence to reject unlawful Electoral College certificates, but Pence must act by no later than Wednesday, December 23.
The drafters of this White House memo believe that the federal check to the states’ elections resides with Vice President Mike Pence in his role as President of the Senate. Additionally, Pence has the sole power determine whether to reject impermissible states of electors. However, Pence is legally required to do this on the fourth Wednesday in December, which this year falls on December 23.

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro discusses holding China accountable for the coronavirus pandemic and attacks on American business.
As tensions between the U.S. and China rage on, White House trade adviser Peter Navarro told “Fox & Friends Weekend” that President Trump has pushed both parties to take a tougher line against China.
“One of the great achievements of Donald J. Trump was to bring to the fore this concept of China as a significant, existential threat to this country,” he said. “Now, we are all China hawks, and I think it’s really important we come together as a country.”
The Trump administration has been adamant about holding China accountable for igniting the coronavirus pandemic. In doing so, Navarro said the Chinese not only attempted to squash the U.S. economy but also is responsible for the death of hundreds of thousands of Americans.

In order to establish accountability in China, Navarro suggested the launch of a presidential commission as a first step to calculate the cost of what the country has lost.
Navarro detailed that on top of the damage from the coronavirus pandemic, Chinese intelligence is still attacking the U.S. “every day,” attempting to steal personal and professional data, as well as the nation’s “soul.”
“Send them a bill, collect that money,” he said. “That’s how we hold them accountable.”

Problem is BOTH parties are to an extent bought and paid for. Even if they are not the GOP still hasn’t rallied around the idea that perhaps what Nixon did and Clinton accelerated was actually BAD for US interests. We need the GOP to admit it was all one huge miscalculation and the experiment failed.
