I had a friend that was born and raised in Bethlehem as a Christian Arab. Bethlehem was 60% Christian when he was born, but is now 3% Christian. He left when he turned 30, a couple of years ago. They tax Christians so he could no longer afford to stay there.
We know a couple of different Palestinian Christian families. They believe that Israel treats them as something to be pushed aside and ignored. One had a relative who was establishing a hostel for Christian pilgrims who we’re going to Bethlehem. He could never get the permits needed for things like the plumbing and electricity. The Israeli Government slow walked, delayed, denied his requests.
