He is not a natural born citizen.

Just after Trump took office in 2017, he talked to Cruz every day for the first three months for at least an hour on the phone.
Then there were the private dinners at the White House with Sen and Mrs. Cruz.
And who do you think has given him the best advice on McConnell and SCOTUS? Yep, Ted Cruz.
So, I would say whatever their rough patch was it has long since healed.
