The Republican Party in Arizona’s largest county voted Saturday to censure the widow of the late Sen. John McCain after she endorsed Democrat Joe Biden. The state GOP is planning a similar vote later this month.
The Maricopa County GOP’s censure resolution called Cindy McCain a "troubled individual, with a past riddled with drug abuse and illegalities associated with such behavior."
The measure also accused Cindy McCain of supporting "leftist causes" including gay marriage, larger government and "others that run counter to Republican values."
Cindy McCain has acknowledged suffering a three-year addiction to pain medicine from 1989 to 1992 and stealing pills from the American Voluntary Medical Team, a charity that she founded to assist developing countries, The Arizona Republic reported.
The Arizona Republican Party tweeted that a state party vote on a Cindy McCain resolution is slated for Jan. 23.

I’ve worked on enough political campaigns over the decades. There were two things that we really never touched on when dealing with opponents (both Dem and Rep).
We never brought up children or chemical dependency issues.
I have zero respect for Cindy McCain - but I couldn’t bring myself to use her drug addiction problems against her. There’s a lot more out there the authors of the censure could have used.
Not a McCain fan, but they should spend more time ensuring free and fair elections and stop wasting with these meaningless censures.
She has been a complete traitor to the party AND was in on the fraud in AZ. SCREW HER!!!
I don't want a druggie running anything and it's something that should be out in the open about a political candidate. Drug problems aren't "diseases", that's liberal BS. Drug addictions should be known by the public in order to make an informed choice of who they're voting for and glaring character flaws like drugs. I realize Cindy McCain isn't running for office, but she inserted herself into the presidential campaign so it's certainly a valid point if she's holding herself up as some kind of reference for Joe Biden and against Trump.
When you combine children, drugs, and pay for play access to daddy as in Hunter Biden then ALL that should be out in the open.
When they vote to expel let me know.

She wasn’t stealing pills directly. What she was doing was using one of the charity’s doctors prescription pad to write her own prescriptions for the drugs she wanted to take. The doctor found out about it (as he’d be held responsible for the prescriptions), and quietly came to John McCain about it. John McCain fired the doctor, and then hired a public relations company to slime the doctor.

The GOP would not be the GOP if they didn't put meaningless, superficial symbolism over actual substance. It's virtue signalling with a slight tilt to the right. It may certainly appear to be bold and conservative, but requires far less hard work and and dedication than actually accomplishing something. Political parties and candidates used to believe they had to throw red meat to their hungry base to get their support. They have learned they can get what they want if they just show them the glossy pictures on the menu.

Holy smokes. The AZ GOP got some guts. This may portend the end of the McCainiacs who ran things in Phoenix, and hopefully it signals the end of candidates like McSally and Flake.
