I agree with you about best to use lower profile attorneys for his defense. Not just the unlikely impeachment trial, but for incoming flurry of nuisance lawsuits the left has vowed to make happen.
Rudy is a trusted aide, one of very few, but many times Rudy seems to enjoy holding court with the press when it’s not useful. He likes to create headlines by making startling remarks and short term promises that frequently don’t pan out. Many unforced errors just to get more face time.
That much was clear even two years ago.
I understand the president has very few professionals that are trustworthy.
Mr. Trump seems to attract unusually bold Judas types. Cohen, Omarosa, Gen. Kelly, Bolton, Mattis, Scaramucci, Mitt. even (maybe) VP Pence. The list goes on and on. Hopefully a few more good men and women will be found willing to work for the president, knowing they will be blacklisted by many top firms.
the senate is 50-50, name SIXTEEN republican senators that would even consider conviction. Which is how many would have to vote for it to pass.

How can the president of the United States (any president) be guilty of “insurrection” ? Insurrection is the act of trying to overthrow the current government. This whole idea of impeachment is nothing more than a hate filled personal political vendetta by Nancy Pelosi. If you saw the clip of her from tonight’s 60 Minutes with Leslie Stahl when she called trump every vile name she could think of you would know that it is personal hate she has for trump and the old saying of “Hell has no fury like the wrath of a scorned woman” is what is driving this. Trump insulted and treated her like a dumb old witch for years and this is her payback if Biden doesn’t stop her.
