If ANYONE lost a child through suicide and went to work seven days after the suicide and one day after burial, I'd seriously question their ability to think clearly and/or not "act out" via work matters.

Except in his case, he wasn't thinking clearly before the suicide.

People cope with grief in many ways. Perhaps the distraction of work and a normal environment was his way of coping.

Or he's a sociopath.

An fMRI scan of his brain (and that of every elected official!) would be illuminating...

Let's be honest: Rep Raskin (not Thomas, my bad) is a lifetime Dem, whose parents were progressives and involved in the Kennedy Admin. It's in his upbringing.

I know it's fashionable to declare liberalism a mental disorder, but I don't think liberalism is ipso facto a DSM-V matter. That is too generous - it means they can't help themselves, and that's fundamentally not true. Liberalism is a choice. Saying liberalism is all mental is letting them off the hook for their bad choices.

That said, there is liberal, there is rabid liberal, and then there is "a little therapy may be helpful" liberal (like the ones screeching at the sky after Hillary lost).

Rep Raskin is beyond the "little therapy" benchmark, if you ask me. I'm no expert, but I don't care if he is liberal or conservative. NOBODY who loses a child to suicide, no matter for how long the child was suffering, can bounce back in a week and conduct himself at work objectively.

Pelosi (she's another one who is cognitively wanting) should remove the job from Raskin, tell him to be with his family for a month, and give it someone who isn't emotionally compromised. Indeed, if Raskin IS NOT compromised given his son just killed himself, then there is truly some BIGGER problem with this guy.
