Troops, Blockades and Eerie Quiet Pervade a Locked-Down Washington
Wall Street Journal ^ | January 18, 2020 | Julie Bykowicz, Ted Mann, and Andrew Restuccia

The scores of crisp American and District of Columbia flags sailing above Pennsylvania Avenue are a traditional sign of a coming presidential inauguration.

This year, there are some new indicators: Thousands of armed troops and police officers, blocked-off streets and miles of barricade fencing. The bustle of the nation’s capital before an inauguration has been replaced with the eerie quiet of a city in lockdown.

The deadly Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol by supporters of President Trump has turned pre-inaugural Washington into a secured encampment, one that has drawn comparisons with Baghdad’s Green Zone where foreign embassies are located.

Just like a coup everywhere else in the world.

Except it did not happen here. CNN says so.

[Our country has been abused for so long it’s unrecognizable.]

That, unfortunately, is an absolute fact.

Shocking, frankly.

The press must have gotten their orders to include the adjective “deadly” in every reference to Jan 6’s protests, even though it was less violent than an hour in Chicago...and nowhere near as deadly as Obama’s war on cops.

The WSJ is no better than the Washington Post, New York Times, or The Guardian.

The city better stay locked down.
Safer for them and us.
Unlike most countries, we will do just fine without
the capitol. That cesspool doesn’t define America.
It may temporarily rule us, but the real America
is a long ways away.

Kim Jung Un sent a message from Pyongyang congratulating his
Washington, D.C. comrades on being able to lock down washington better than the North Korean Capital.

FBI vetting Guard troops in DC amid fears of insider attack

LOL. Yeah. This is normal. Everybody agrees there is no evidence of election fraud.

KGB vets army.

That’s why I cancelled them after a dozen or so years. The day I called to cancel, the cancel line had a hold of about 10 minutes before someone got to me.

The psychopaths at the FBI are an interesting bunch. They did absolutely NOTHING to bring Federal charges to the BLM-ANTIFA terrorist cabal for their past year of arson, murder, mayhem, and annihilation.

However, the corrupt POS creeps manage to closely scrutinize and “vet” 25,000 Constitutionally-Sworn members of the National Guard.

Talk about an organization that should be disbanded immediately, and its “agents” should be cast into the streets like the vile trash they are.

I used to cringe when I viewed acts of gummint abuse in others countries but took comfort in the fact that "it could never happen here".

WOW.

I read 1984 back in the 50s when I was in high school, and my class mates all made fun of the book, believing that it would never happen in the USA.

Were we ever wrong.
