Coal powers China: While the West wages war on coal, hydro-carbons power China’s industrial and military might

While the West wages war on coal, hydro-carbons power China’s industrial and military might.

China uses massive amounts of coal to generate electricity, smelt metals, and manufacture cement -- they generate almost twice as much electricity as the USA, and two thirds of that is coal-powered.

In China, wind power is a token 5% (probably earning carbon offsets from western shysters). But the stop-start power from wind/solar is not allowed to interrupt reliable base-load generators like coal.

In Australia, wind and solar are promoted, protected and subsidized. Their variable output requires quick-start electricity from gas, hydro or batteries to maintain supply. And the sudden surges of power from wind and solar send short-term electricity prices so low that steady reliable generators like coal become unprofitable. They will close prematurely.

Once the coal generators are gone, what will keep the Australian electricity flowing when wind and solar fail? Zillion-dollar batteries may help for an hour or so, but what then carries the load AND recharges the batteries? Prepare for blackouts and electricity rationing.

It is a green fantasy to expect cheap reliable power from wind-solar.

And only UN climateers could believe that China will cap coal usage any time soon.

It’s different when they do it.

Green energy can never power a modern industial society. Without cheap, reliable electricity there is economic contraction, social and political unrest, and evnworse pollution. The Chinese are not fools and have not joined the wok suicide pact.

We were in South Africa in '17 and while on our way from Johannesburg to Kruger National Park we saw a freight train that had to be a couple of miles long heading east. I commented on it and the guide said that it was coal heading to some port in Mozambique with the ultimate destination being China.

He said that you see them constantly on that route...a route he takes regularly.

Forgot to mention...I’ve visited China (and Hong Kong) several times...the most recent visit being in 2018. The clearest day....meaning clear air...I’ve ever seen there is 20 times worse than anything I’ve ever in NYC,the LA Basin or the Ruhr Valley.

I’ve been paying attention to this.

China embargoed construction of new coal plants for awhile, but nowadays, its full speed ahead.

“Green energy “ was invented by the USSR during the Cold War to bring the Western economies to their knees.

China has continued the policy and they are driving the push for America to abandon coal fired power plants to cripple our economy.

Thankfully, President Trump has pushed an initiative for clean, safe nuclear power plants and the initiative has resulted in a break through nuclear reactor technology that is far safer, simpler and lower cost than current technology.

China still puts 2.5 new, High Sulphur Coal fired plants on-line every month.

India is close behind.

Without nuclear technology, the nation will not thrive without huge carbon based energy sources. The Biden Administration will never allow the widespread deployment of nuclear energy however safe. In New York, Cuomo is shutting nuclear plants as he also stops gas and oil pipelines. Not any different in Calidornia, Illinois or the other Democrat controlled states. Dark, irrational era ahead for America.

China’s coal resources are immeasurable... they’ll NEVER give it up

And only UN climateers could believe that China will cap coal usage any time soon.

China will use the money they make off slave and forced labor to buy off the crooks in Washington... they'll NEVER have to switch away from coal ...

Maybe that's OUR answer: rather than running against democrats and the deep state, maybe we should just pay them off like the Chinese do...

Years ago, an Oregonian article said 18% of atmospheric mercury in Oregon comes from China.

The same thing happens here in the USA.
Freight trains load in WY and head directly to the port of Tacoma where they are loaded on vessels to go to China.

IF Cuomo could he would shut down the Robert Moses power plant at Niagara Falls. I believe it still is one of the least expensive electric generating stations in the country.
There is and never will be a shortage of water exiting the Great Lakes.

Same story in Quebec. The dams on the St Lawrence generate more power than the whole province of Quebec can ever possibly use.

To me, this is absolute proof that China does not believe in climate change.
