The Virginia House Committee on Privileges and Elections approved legislation Wednesday to mandate polling places throughout the state be gun-free zones.
The NRA-ILA reports the legislation, House Bill 2081, “prohibits firearms within 40 feet of a polling place,” whether that polling place is on public property or private. NRA-ILA notes:

This has been the law in OK since concealed carry came into law in the 90s. Same common sense rules have applied as in other situations: concealed is concealed, be the gray man, etc.
First, no poll watchers. Now, no guns. What next “No Voter Zones” at the polls on election day? /sarc
This should stop all those shootings at polling places. There were so many people injured and killed while voting during the last election cycle, like maybe tens of thousands or a million. Most of of the victims were black, brown, LBGTQ and other oppressed groups.

And this gun prohibition prevents what crime? Did anyone shoot someone at a polling place in Virginia?

I concealed carry as an election judge in commierado. I think my associates suspected and felt comforted by it even if they were democrap hypocrites.
I carry in a lot of places that think they can control weapon possession, my poling place included. Unless they got a metal detector....I’m carrying and they can pack sand.
Just to be clear. A lot of folks were distressed/angry by pix of the Philadelphia Black panthers with clubs outside a
polling place a few elections back. I assume that
the folks opposing the Va issue would have been fine if the
panthers had had guns?
Virginia is for gamblers and pot heads.
