WASHINGTON—President Biden will keep Christopher Wray in place as FBI director, people familiar with the matter said Thursday.

Mr. Wray has kept a low profile as the nation’s premier law-enforcement agency has been rocked by political storms. He was frequently a target for former President Donald Trump, who appointed him in 2017 but publicly and privately contemplated firing him several times throughout his tenure. He has about six years remaining in his 10-year term, but like all FBI directors he serves at the will of the president.

The guy was FBI chief for 48 years and served 8 presidents and 18 attorneys general.
