Joe Biden: The New George Wallace
The American Spectator ^ | Jeffrey Lord

Posted on 01/22/2021 7:57:25 PM PST by TBP

What is really at play here with President Biden, as with George Wallace, is identity politics. The original identity politics was slavery. After the abolition of slavery came the next installment of identity politics — segregation. The identity politics of today is the new segregation — identity politics being the son of segregation and the grandson of slavery. It’s all about race, and its practitioners can easily be called racial supremacists.

As I long ago detailed in this space, racism has been the political fuel for the Democratic Party since its inception.

Nothing has changed with the Democratic Party. Today’s identity politics is nothing less than the politics of racial supremacy. Race trumps all.

Which, to bring us back to President Biden, is exactly what Biden, like Wallace before him, is all about: using racial supremacy to gin up his base and divide people for political purposes.

The Democrats' view of minorities has not changed one iota from the day the party was founded. Joe Biden is a perfect embodiment of that.

Biden is a senile, racist grifter credibly accused of sexual assault and in the pocket of the Communist Chinese regime, which got him elected.

Wallace would be rolling in his grave if he knew where Biden stood today on his policies like open borders, etc.

I do remember something quite unexpected about George Wallace. I was in grad school watching a TV interview of Wallace sometime in the late 1960s. The interviewer was a woman and asked him avbout his racism and hating blacks, and so on.

The surprise was when Wallace said, yes that was true he was a racist and thought blacks were stupid and inferior, then: YES, BUT I WAS WRONG! He went on to say that he had met a lot of really fine blacks since his days of standing in front of the school and saying, “Segregation now, and Segregation Forever!. I told the other guys watching that Wallace’s admission and apology on nation wide TV would be tomorrow’s headlines. But of course there wasn’t a peep out of the mainstream media or any other media includding he so called Underground Press.

No. Wallace admitted his mistakes but the media never has admitted theres. Nor will they ever if things go on as they have.

Good way of pointing it out. George Wallace was able to get votes from Whites by using racism.

Joe Biden is doing the same thing, that's why he's getting the votes from Blacks, Hispanics, Native Americans and Asians.

It's payback time. We can blame Obama for this. He has set us back 50 years in race relations, my opinion.

Yeah, but a lot of people who voted for George Wallace are still alive, it wasn’t THAT long ago. And I’d guess those same people voted for Trump this time around ha. White working class southerners

I totally get the point you are making though

I happen to live in the town where Wallace was shot. All these years later, the city leaders don’t want you to mention it.

I go to that shopping center from time to time.

Blacks won’t care if they get paid what they think they’re owed and get a little revenge on the side. There are black people that I do love but in general I think this is definitely the sentiment.

White liberals will internalize the guilt and blame conservatives for any racism at all.

This moral oneupmanship will do no good.

I was a 23 year old college student and air force veteran in 1968 and a registered Republican. I voted for George Wallace because I believed him when he said there wasn’t “a dimes worth of difference between the Republicans and Democrats.” He was right then and it hasn’t changed after all these years. And, I voted for Trump both times.
