For the record.... So they can say he was tried.
If the Republicans had their wits about them they could use this opportunity to great effect. Firstly they should point out that the whole proceeding is moot because 45 Senators have said its unconstitutional. Then they should have videos of what President Trump said and compare and contrast with videos of what Democrats such as Pelosi, Waters, Holder etc. have said. Then videos of the arrest of members of Antifa and BLM. Then videos of the capitol police, under Pelosi's control waiving protestors into the capitol. Also point out that there are a number of good reasons to believe the election was stolen.
This is a wonderful opportunity to both expose the hypocrisy of the Democrats and the cause of the unrest. If the Republicans orchestrate this properly they could really show up Schumer et al, but as usual I'm not holding my breath.
