John McLaughlin To Newsmax TV: Cancel Trump Effort 'Backfiring'

Yet another impeachment is "backfiring," as the Senate is unlikely to convict and political division will only spur President Donald Trump's voting base to retaliate at the ballot box, according to Trump campaign pollster John McLaughlin on Newsmax TV.

"It's backfiring," McLaughlin told Thursday's "Greg Kelly Reports." "What they're doing on impeachment, people see it is unfair, unconstitutional, going against the president.

"They really want them to deal with the coronavirus."

McLaughlin appeared with constitutional legal expert Alan Dershowitz, who derided Democrats for "trying anything" to disqualify Trump from running in 2024, "that they're prepared to twist and turn and destroy the Constitution."

Dershowitz added to host Greg Kelly, "I care more about the Constitution than I care about any politician or any political party. And no matter who is a victim of unconstitutional acts, I am going to stand up for their rights."

McLaughlin's polling shows widespread support for Trump and Dershowitz's legal view.

"It's having no impact on his base, in fact, it's just solidifying them and making them angrier or more upset," McLaughlin said of impeachment efforts.

"Because the people outside the Beltway agree with professor Dershowitz."

McLaughlin noted polls show 75% of battleground voters believe the Senate's latest impeachment trial of a former president is "a waste of time, money."

Specifically, in Wyoming, the home state of Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., 70% consider this impeachment "unconstitutional," as Dershowitz has repeatedly warned.

And yet, Dershowitz is an unrepentant pro-abortionist and anti-2nd Amendment attorney. In reality he is a cherry-picker, and an Epstein guy - he is a sort of Milo with a law degree.

That is exactly right. Move the focus away from what that ILLEGITIMATE occupier of our White House and what he is doing to our Republic.

Why would the LEFT care what people think?

They are too busy making sure the people no longer have a say.

There have now been FOUR Impeachments in American history.

None have removed a President.

... will only spur President Donald Trump's voting base to retaliate at the ballot box ...

Too late for that as in 2020 the Dems proved they can rig the elections and the courts will do nothing about it

how much you want to bet that the administration is trying to figure out how to funnel billions to hedge funds right now as a bailout? What are the odds the hedge funds get get billions in bailout money before the rest of the nation gets their $2000 or reasonable access to a Covid vaccine if they want it?

Pelosi has a great legacy: two failed impeachments; tearing up a State of the Union address on live TV; inciting division in the country.

Re: “retaliate at the ballot box”

What ballot box? Does he mean meaningless retaliation at a rigged voting **machine**?

“...rig the elections...”
______
Y&ou are right about this. It seems that people are having difficulty in pivoting to any new strategy. It is foolishly naive to think voting will be important in future, unless something is done about the fraud.

It's not the Trump base we need to be concerned about; it's the RAT voters who become unemployed, impoverished or otherwise harmed by the Biden policies. We have to make them understand that all the media crap about us is just that- CRAP!

Dershowitz added to host Greg Kelly, "I care more about the Constitution than I care about any politician or any political party. And no matter who is a victim of unconstitutional acts, I am going to stand up for their rights."

The turning point in the civil rights movement in early 1964 happened when highly ethical people of all political stripes and social types stood together and said, "NO - we don't treat people like this"... and 'We shall Overcome' went from a lament to a reality.

Highly ethical people are calling 'enough' on democrat tactics, lies and dreams of 're-education camps again - in our time. Just like we stood up to democrat 'elites' in the South...

“Too late for that as in 2020 the Dems proved they can rig the elections and the courts will do nothing about it.”

It wasn’t the courts that failed us - it was too many RINOs in the state legislature who failed to assert their Constitutional authority over election and certification processes - until it was too late.

The 2020 election travesty was like a spousal abuse case in which the wife refuses to press charges against her abusive husband.

Even if it is obvious that he is guilty of viciously beating her - and then intimidating her out of testifying against him - the courts can do nothing if she won’t press charges.

State executive branch officials conspired to circumvent laws set by the legislative branch - but the legislative branch acted like the battered wife who is too intimidated to press charges against her husband.

Too many RINOs in the state legislatures...

We need to learn to do a better job of electing politicians who will truly represent us - the fact that they call themselves Republicans does not mean anything.
