Back around 2016, people chanted “Lock her up” and people talked about Obama’s birth certificate and other things. But one of the core questions was — “Are we the sort of country that puts politicians on trial? Do we persecute the political opposition as soon as they leave office? Would we ever really be so bold as to put Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama behind bars?”
Some of us certainly engaged in wishful thinking, but I think a lot of people just said, “It will never happen. We’re not like that.”
But now the shoe is on the other foot. I sense no trepidation of any kind. Get him! Get him! Get him! Hound that guy! Lawfare him to death! His family too! Put them all in jail! They actually wanted to make this country great! Make them suffer!
