The Pentagon is 'pausing' a plan to have Guantanamo Bay detainees vaccinated against COVID-19 next week.
Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby confirmed Saturday afternoon that the process was on hold following widespread outrage that terrorists were being given priority treatment for the in-demand vaccines.
'No Guantanamo detainees have been vaccinated. We're pausing the plan to move forward, as we review force protection protocols. We remain committed to our obligations to keep our troops safe,' Kirby wrote on Twitter.

My wife's sister in Chappaqua,NY caught Covid last week while waiting to get higher on the waiting list.
As the FL governor said "why should a healthy, muscular 25 year old mailman in our state get his shot ahead of an elderly and ill person who is susceptible?"
In Michigan the "first responders and health system" includes the billing dept.staff, admin. staff and cafeteria workers and clerks in all hospitals and urgent care facilities. And correctional means the maintenance and clerical staff in prisons and jails, too. Ahead of the elderly sick people elsewhere.
