The Democratic push to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour has emerged as an early flashpoint in the fight for a $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package, testing President Joe Biden's ability to bridge Washington's partisan divides as he pursues his first major legislative victory. Biden called for a $15 hourly minimum wage during his campaign and has followed through by hitching it to a measure that, among other things, calls for $1,400 stimulus checks and $130 billion to help schools reopen.

Like I said, give it a few months and the majority of people will be saying the Capital invasion didn’t go far enough. Actually seeing how fast the Joe Biteme occupation is moving, give it a few weeks.

I’ve wondered too, regarding inflation, if all these trillions being spent on virus relief programs, as it increases the money supply, will trigger inflation.

Inflationary pressures seem to be out there, and could explode.

So, they are going to try and do it legislatively? How original. I don’t see how Manchin could possibly vote for such a bill. It would crash WV’s economy.

$15 per hour is probably the inflation bomb that will set it off.

Let them do it, it's a scam anyway. The minimum wage hike wouldn't even reach to $15 until 2025 and it only applies to federal employees.

Let them be exposed as being frauds, it wouldn't make me lose sleep.

He just realize that raising it that much is going to create massive part time hiring to get around paying out benefits to employees?

Tens of millions of new uneducated, unskilled, non-english speaking immigrants, and a mandated minumum wage no employer can afford to pay for such labor.

What could possibly go wrong?

doesn’t that mean
30$ per hour * (% melanin on the Pedocard?),
giving an average to Latina of about 15%.
a white gets 1$/hr and a Black gets $30.

Seems fair to the Bejing-Biden Administration
as the last EO, he signed after his DNR.

Why are the Democrats in such a hurry for a $15 an hour minimum wage while letting in the US tens of thousands of ILLEGAL ALIENS who will work for a lot less off the books.

Even if Joe Manchin says no, Mitt Romney might say yes. He seems anxious to make deals with the Democrats so he’ll appear to be bi-partisan. Romney might say no on other issues like Green New Deal, DC Statehold, Federal Judges but this is an easy issue for him to say yes on.

First, leftists kill businesses with covid lockdowns.

Now, they look to destroy the ones holding on with a minimum wage hike.

It’s a plan, not a coincidence.

Last time I went to a McWhopper, they charged me $21.00 for 2 burgers, 2 frys and 2 cokes.

I don’t give a damn if they pay those people 27 per hour, I’m not going back to robbery scene.

Sure right. Gas will be $ 15 bucks a gallon so the poor slab can work all day and afford 1/2 tank of gas.

It's a fact that MOST restaurants, fast food chains, etc., cannot afford to pay $15 an hour for their workers. Most cooks don't make $15 an hour. At best, what they can afford to keep will be put on part time so they won't have to pay their medical. Prices will rise to the point where people will not be able to afford to eat out.

I actually thought at first glance the title was about $15 a gallon gas, which is not far down the road at all.
