Ah of course, it’s in the Constitution so it must be true.
I actually had a commie try to tell me last week that China does have free elections, even though there is only one party to vote for.

Friedman must have a thing for mass graves.

If anyone wants confirmation of how screwy QAnon is, look no further than our resident QAnon threads. Don't expect to find anything useful or informative.

You would be out of a job in China, Tom. You also probably wouldn’t be living in a 12,000 sq ft mansion, Mr. Climate protector.

This a-hole and his colleague Paul Krugman, two of the most punchable faces in the business.

It would be interesting to know if Friedman has been paid by the ChiComs for acting as a useful idiot. Spreading ChiCom propaganda usually pays well.
To: Liz
The problem is that after China steals the technology, they have no roadblocks blocking their way in implementing the stolen technology.
Here, we have the environmentalists that worry about snail darters and spotted owls, unions getting their cut, etc. gumming up the works.

You know, Chris, do you know that it takes four hours and 18 minutes to take the bullet train from Beijing to Shanghai, and it takes 21 hours to take the train from New York to Chicago. And they’re both about the same distance.” I did a couple of quick searches for Amtrak vs. flying.
The Amtrak train costs about $90-100 if you ride the 21 hours in an ordinary seat. A "Room" costs about $400-500.
You can fly to Chicago for as low as $39.57 if you're willing to take a layover for a total time of 6 hrs. 53 minutes. (This flight only has a layover of less than 45 minutes but flies New York -> Fort Lauderdale -> Chicago. Get 2 "meals" I suppose though.) A non-stop flight is $110 and takes about 2 hrs. 40 minutes.

Between NY and Chicago, there is 150 years of development AND private property. In the US, that amount of right of way it would be expensive. China can simply take property as it pleases. We could probably successfully create a Star Trek transporter for less than one bullet train line.

One thing that Communist China does have, though, is a leadership full of Thomas Friedmans.

So ... this means that the airlines are paying customers $80 to go to Fort Lauderdale for four hours.
