The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Pentagon’s research and development wing, is developing an air-launched drone that will carry air-to-air missiles.
Fighter jets will carry the drone, which will allow the planes to reach out and touch targets far beyond the range of existing missiles. The prospect of such a drone opens up a world of possibilities, including launching the drone from other military aircraft, ships, and even land.
DARPA awarded Phase I design work contracts for the“Project LongShot” program to General Atomics, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman. LongShot“will increase the survivability of manned platforms by allowing them to be at standoff ranges far away from enemy threats, while an air-launched LongShot UAV efficiently closes the gap to take more effective missile shots,” DARPA said in a press release.

Reminds me of that kid movie “Ender’s Game” where kids were militarized and controlled thousands of drones that attacked and killed an enemy planet. Because kids have quick gaming skills. To them, it was all a video game. Except for the kid Ender who cried about the inhumanity at the end.

Missiles pull up to 40G — they are essentially kamikaze drones.
Why the persnickety attitude? Do you have to personally know something exists for it to exist?

Seriously, you have a problem with a FReeper asking for evidence supporting a wild claim? Really, a speculative “TheDrive - Warzone” article would suffice — although they don’t seem to be in on the technology either (referring to airfoil-suspended aircraft, not missiles).
Will Amazon use them to deliver packages?
If you want to be liked, don’t task people with some arbitrary level of proof — it is about as lame as you can get.
A. I. and automation are exploding in capabilities, and Uncle Sam is not going to keep you informed on their progress.
Live with it, or prove there is some God ordained force keeping pilots in the cockpit.

I believe it was in the book that it was ultimately revealed that Ender was commanding actual troops halfway across the galaxy, and those people followed his orders at the cost of their own lives. After he’d won the war he was also told that he just oversaw the genocide of an entire species.
Our B-52 fleet was recently upgraded by installing additional under-wing hard points.
