The problem with truth is that it is very slow-moving, cumbersome, and highly unattractive.
As Twain said: “A lie can travel all the way around the world before the truth can even get its boots on.”
Or, as the (parsed) Ragnar Redbeard quote I have always had in my tagline says (the full, non-parsed quote): “All great truths are hard and bitter, but lies, to the morbidly-inclined, are sweeter than wild honey.”
It's a great quote and so relevant in the age of misinformation, but are you 100% sure it was Mark Twain's?
