Veteran Republican strategist Steve Schmidt announced Friday that he has resigned from the board of the Lincoln Project.
The move comes after a week in which revelations surfaced that the organization, an influential critic of former President Trump, knew about allegations of sexual harassment involving one of its co-founders several months before acknowledging them publicly.
Schmidt made the announcement in a lengthy post on Twitter in which he shared a personal account of sexual abuse from a Boy Scout medic, a yearslong fight with depression and an apology for posting the private messages of a former Lincoln Project official a day earlier.
“I am resigning my seat on the Lincoln Project board to make room for the appointment of a female board member as the first step to reform and professionalize the Lincoln Project,” Schmidt wrote.
Since its creation, the organization has raised $90 million. But only about a third of the money, roughly $27 million, directly paid for advertisements that aired on broadcast and cable, or appeared online, during the 2020 campaign, according to an analysis of campaign finance disclosures and data from the ad tracking firm Kantar/CMAG.

Schmidt’s claim to fame was running the intentionally losing campaign of Designated Loser John McCain.
That is correct. He was a major Sarah Palin detractor as well.
I was an altar boy. I was a Boy Scout. I was NEVER molested, or even approached inappropriately. What’s more, I never heard of any such behavior. And I fell into the category that is described as “fair game”: I was a short and skinny fair-haired kid. I don’t doubt that there were instances of such behavior, as there have been throughout history in myriad situations; but I think it was much the exception than the rule.
Palin was the only one that didn’t know they were supposed to lose and almost got them elected, so they had to sabotage her.

I too was a Boy Scout and not only was I never molested I also never heard of a “Boy Scout medic”.
The “veteran Republican strategist” is a card-carrying member of the Democrat Party.

Exhibit A in why the Republican party is such a loser, and why they don't do anything for their base of voters. Not to mention that they backstab their base when the base has something going for them.
Exhibit A in why the "lesser of two evils" is really a democrat posing as a republican to ruin the party.
I was approached in Boy Scouts.
My parents got wind of it somehow and in 2 weeks, every Scout in the troop was yanked by their parents.
Never found out what happened to the guy but hopefully he died in prison.
