After getting raked over the coals by Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., after his Senate acquittal Saturday, former President Donald Trump fired back Wednesday on Newsmax TV.
"Republicans are soft," Trump told "Greg Kelly Reports." "They only hit their own, like Mitch.
"If he spent the same time hitting [Senate Majority Leader Chuck] Schumer and [President Joe] Biden, the Republicans would be much better off."

No time for self pity. Let's get on with it.
Includes a Trump send-off of Rush Limbaugh.
Nobody, not even the news media now suddenly kissing his wrinkled @ss when they ignored him for decades gives a crap about Joe.
Republicans did not support Trump in the beginning because they thought he’d be removed. They didn’t support him in the end because they wanted him removed. Either case, they forced him from office in an ongoing systematic coup.
If only McConnell stood up for the GOP as he does for Democrats in the Senate.
The GOP has had an agenda for thirty years that has been the opposite of MAGA, it is to turn the USA into North Mexico.
They fought President Trump at every turn as he tried to secure the border and restore the rule of law.
They assisted the Democrats in cheating him out of office to keep him from taking over the GOP and saving our country.
The entire purpose of the GOP since 1989 was blocking conservatives from stopping the importation of that permanent Democrat majority that would vote to subsume the USA to the UN and strip US of our sovereignty.
Assistant Democrats is all they are and will ever be.
Today I got a text email begging me for money for money and who knows if anyone will see it but I said “get back to me when you get rid of Mitch”
LOL - felt good!
The first rule of government club is you don’t disrespect a fellow member of government club.
I don’t see it as self pity. He’s just making an excellent point, as he usually does.
Yep. He is trying to tell Republicans to stop going after their own. Democrats seldom do that.
Huh? Did somebody put your turtle up on a fence post?
Their butts and thin skins are still sore four+ years after you kicked ‘em, President Trump!
I don’t want to see a shellackin’ in 2022, but the GOP establishment is headed for one. They don’t have Trump OR Rush to be their convenient punching bags anymore, so what are THEY are going to do when Nanzi and Chucky start to really focus on them?
Of course President Trump is correct in regards to McConnell.
President Trump, you had better understand, many of us are done with the Republican Party...FOREVER! If you do decide to run again (not sure if elections are worth anything anymore anyway), you had better do it as a third party candidate. I will never, ever, vote Republican again, even if you are the GOP nominee!
Many millions of us have grabbed our ankles for the last time!
I hope the Republican party craters and voters are forced to seek other alternatives. No where is it written that a political party is entitled to exist for more than 200 years.
I feel exactly the same way Trump runs with an R next to his name I STAY HOME, I will not be a part of having him BETRAYED all over again NO WAY!!
So stop feeling sorry for yourself and fight like Trump!
He won’t because they both are part of the Uniparty. Washington D.C. politics is like the shell game. One empty shell is the Democratic Party and the other empty shell is the Republican Party. Both are there to distract you from the shell with the pea. That shell is the real goal. It is the Uniparty and it holds the prize.
