Were any of them born a girl? I remember it was some really hard physical work in my younger days to make it to that level (and no, I never tried). Maybe it’s so easy now that a (real) girl can do it, but if not, then who are these people identifying as ‘girls’?

Yes. The first inaugural class of female Eagle Scouts had 900+ of them. There were hundreds of boys getting it that month, too, but they were overshadowed by the girls.
