An estimated 5.6 percent of Americans identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer, according to a new Gallup report. That’s up from 4.5 percent in 2017, the last year polling on the issue was conducted by the organization.
Of those surveyed who identified as LGBTQ, 54.6 percent identified as bisexual, 24.5 percent as gay, 11.7 percent as lesbians, 11.3 percent as transgender and 3.3 percent said they used another term to describe their identity (i.e. queer or same-gender loving). The total exceeds 100 percent because respondents were able to choose more than one category.
The results were based on more than 15,000 interviews conducted with adults 18 and older throughout 2020.
The percent of Americans who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer increased 60 percent between 2012 and 2020, according to Gallup.
Younger Americans are increasingly likely to consider themselves part of the LGBTQ community: Nearly 16 percent of Generation Z, those 18 to 23 in 2020, consider themselves something other than heterosexual. That compares to just 2 percent of Americans 56 and older.

1) Did the poll include male college students?
2) If you identified as transgender and as gay, wouldn’t you be back where you started?

It is taught in K-12 that it's cool and accepted.

Exactly, I think a good chuck of them are doing it because it is cool and fad plus to standout, but they will grow out of it in the future probably.
Increases their chance of getting a date by at least 50% too, among other things....
It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. People have been told for decades that homosexuals comprise 10% of the population, so that now it is no longer a stigma to be considered homosexual, the %age will rise to meet the expectation.
The queer propaganda is working. Of course, they are throwing in the transgenders into the mix.
Easy to do, I assume, when you grow up not knowing who you are, where you fit in the world, the difference between wrong and right, and relying on a little tech-box for social contact.
Yes, it is trendy to be “pansexual” or some other variety.
Youth that claim to be “normal” are immediately branded as haters.
The indoctrination is powerful and children are helpless.
