Gotta bring in more cheap labor if the minimum wage is going up to $15.

Lobbyists ... unelected bag men for those who wish to crap on the American citizens’ personal rights.
I put HOA’s, PAC’s, and any “mothers against the owning and usage of whatchamacallits”, in the same ‘tidy bowl’.

Say goodbye to all American tech jobs. This is the end of white collar jobs in America. The Indians have all but monopolized technology job recruitment now. So your resume is useless now.

I trust black workers are happy with the competition for jobs.

Whenever I’m tempted to be angry about this sort of thing I just remind myself that I live in a country where school boards are starting to adopt policies based on the bizarre notion that expecting students to get the correct answers in math class is a form of “white supremacy.”
I’m probably not the only one with a background in corporate management who found that over time, more and more EDUCATED Americans are ‘effing unemployable.

Bush League Republicans cheer.
This is what they have spent their careers trying to achieve, turning the USA into North Mexico.

So, Let me see, I thought the Demoncrats were all about the $15.00 an hour “minimum wage” when it seems thewy are flooding the market with $4.50 per hour “slave wages?”
I know this is way sarcastic, but isn’t it true?

As a general rule, threads on how the America labor force is being screwed over gains little attention. For the most part, Free Republic could give a rats a$$ about US workers and labor issues.

- Those who think that wishing real hard makes the labor market immune to supply and demand.
- Those in leadership who know better but are cynically using these policies to make every American dependent on government.

It might depend on the STEM field. What bothered me most about recent U.S. graduates in my field wasn’t their technical skills; it was their disgracefully poor command of the English language. I was astonished at how many American-born STEM graduates had English writing skills that were worse than what I’d see from their peers who spoke English as a second language.

I used to work for a Koch company.
Good in that they were very clear about their political and philosophical bent. MBM has many good points.
But being told “We can, and will, replace all of you with managers from South America the second we can do so legally” is a heck of a buzz kill.
Oh, and you were “required” to donate to the Koch PAC if you wanted to advance. Kind of like United Way donations on some companies.

Or not. In my field I’ve seen no evidence to support that.
