Gov. Andrew Cuomo was set to be the primary honoree at the LGBT Bar of New York’s 2021 gala but when news broke of allegations he sexually harassed a former aide, he was scrubbed from the event.
Early Wednesday, a few hours before a Medium post on the alleged harassment was published, the LGBT Bar of New York sent an email announcing Cuomo as this year’s “Community Vision Award Recipient.”
“For decades, the LGBT Bar Association Foundation of Greater New York, LeGaL, has bestowed the Community Vision Award upon individuals or organizations with a distinguished record of service to the LGBTQ community, including a sustained commitment to achieving equal rights for all members of our community,” the email reads.
It includes a long list of accomplishments the non-profit worked with Cuomo on, including the repealing of the “walking while trans ban” and the passage of GENDA, which prohibits discrimination based on gender identity in New York.
But when it came time for the virtual gala Thursday evening, Cuomo wasn’t mentioned by the hosts once, a video of the event on YouTube shows.
“With the help of the LGBT Bar of New York, we have achieved so many major victories right here in New York,” master of ceremonies Marti Gould Cummings, a drag artist and City Council candidate, said at the start of the event as they rattled off a list of accomplishments they’d credited Cuomo for in the email without mentioning the embattled gov.
The gala went on to celebrate five other honorees for the group’s “Community Excellence Award,” naming them and congratulating them on their success without any mention of Cuomo.
Cuomo’s office has repeatedly denied the allegations.

that seems like it would have been fairly safe with him. it was straight 20 something white girls that were in imminent danger from his presence.
If the elderly that were murdered by him were lesbian they would have a problem

People have forgotten that this bully had a sexual discrimination complaint filed against him with the Department of EEOC, by then HUD Inspector General Susan Gaffney, back in October of 2000, when he was Clinton’s HUD Secretary. Gaffney’s complaint alleged that Cuomo, and other top officials harassed and discriminated against her in retaliation for her work to guard against fraud and abuse at the agency. As it was, $59 billion dollars went missing from HUD under Cuomo’s supervision, and he’s never been made to account for it. How much money has gone missing from New York State’s coffers since he’s been Governor? We know he’s wasted a lot of tax payer dollars on projects that fell through, but no one has stopped him from doing it again. His father broke the State, and then the morons in NY City, and the surrounding liberal counties voted in his grifter son. Andrew Cuomo was a scumbag crook in 2000. Nothing’s changed in 21 years.
