Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) warned that big tech companies are incentivized to hire foreign workers over Americans as he discussed President Joe Biden’s immigration agenda during an exclusive interview with Breitbart News at the Conservative Political Action Conference.
Gosar highlighted continuing visa programs he says “don’t work,” particularly the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program for crowding Americans out of tech jobs while tech corporations profit.
In 2019, Gosar introduced legislation titled the “Fairness for High Skilled Americans Act” to end the OPT program as Americans cannot be hired through the program.
“I’m one of the big people talking about OPT, which is the Optional Practical Training program, that Congress never authorized,” Gosar said in reference to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) running the program on its own accord instead of enacting the program through Congress.
“This is an unkept intrusion of foreign workers that gives benefits to people like big tech to bring in folks from China, and from Pakistan, and from India, and one of the problems that exists here is that you get a 15.5 percent discount to hire them over American citizens,” Gosar said. “That 15.5 percent discount is the FICA [Federal Insurance Contribution Act] withholding tax that puts money into Social Security and Medicare.” [...]
Corporations such as Amazon, Google, Deloitte, and Intel employ thousands of OPT foreign workers over American STEM graduates every year — reaping a more than 15 percent discount because the employers can evade at least $20 billion to $30 billion in FICA taxes over the years.
As Breitbart News has reported, there are nearly 500,000 Chinese students in the U.S. in any given year — more than any other nation — taking seats in university classrooms and looking to eventually obtain OPT authorization to take entry-level jobs in white-collar [...]

Funny in another thread, there was a Freeper that was adamant that Americans were just too stupid to work in tech.

I posted the whole scam how OPTs do not pay FICA tax (neither do companies that hire them (that’s 15% combined), ignored of course.
I posted that 74% of American STEM graduates could not find work after graduation, ignored of course (official US census stats must have been wrong) or Americans plain didn’t want to work.
I posted the average H1B makes a full 34% less than industry median wage (for a 100K position, that’s 66K), again USCiS stats must be wrong. Only his personal observations in Milwaukee were valid.

We have to start pulling together as Americans, or the only jobs left for us will be unskilled blue-collar work even the Mexicans avoid.

Including contractors, the vast majority of new Microsoft employees are Indian and Communist Chinese. You should see the Redmond campus at lunch. All Indians in the cafeteria.

Guess you never dealt with severe and pervasive Indian racism. Any company they move into becomes quickly mostly Indian.
And Indians ONLY hire other Indians.
At least in the Trump era, the DOJ, DOL and EEOC has filed and won many cases against Indian companies in the US. The fines given to these Indian companies were mostly meaningless and they continue their racist ways.

Don’t know about the retail side, but Walmart only hired H1B Indian scumbags directly or through contracting companies in Bentonville.
The Indian scumbags working retail most undoubtedly are H4EADs with the Indian manager a GC holder or an H1B.
You can go to the USCIS website, type in Walmart and your city to verify.
