Jimmy Carter says he’s sad, angry over Georgia voting bills

ATLANTA (AP) — Former President Jimmy Carter declared his opposition Tuesday to a slate of restrictive voting proposals moving through his native Georgia’s General Assembly, saying he is “disheartened, saddened and angry” over moves to “turn back the clock” on ballot access after Democratic successes in 2020.

Carter, a Democrat, said in a long statement that the Republican-backed proposals, which would end no-excuse absentee voting, “appear to be rooted in partisan interests, not the interests of all Georgia voters.”

I remember his “Iran screw up” very well. The minute Reagan was inaugurated they released the hostages. I so loved Reagan.

Why is he sad? It is not like the Commie-Rat control counties will actually follow any of these laws any better than they followed the previous set of laws.

Mail-in and drop off voting is a sure recipe for vote fraud.

If he thinks either is good idea then he is arguing in favor of rigged elections.

Carter, your mid-east legacy impeaches any opinion you might otherwise feel compelled to inflict on us. In the end you are an incompetent RAT at best. I’m being charitable by calling you incompetent. I think you have a mean streak a mile deep that you build houses to compensate for.

Carter is as out of it as Biden. If Carter had any brain cells left, he would remember when he pushed for transparency in elections, and decried that kind of corruption criminals like Stacy Abrams demonstrated in the last election. That election was stolen, and Carter should be conscious enough to see that. He is not. So, he passed from the scene. What else should one expect?

So he’s sad they’re trying to implement procedures he recommends for other countries to ensure free and fair elections?

He should be happy that Biden is the White House. It’s not possible for anyone to say he is worst President alive anymore.

How I hated serving under that weak sack of feces.

I have always tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and ascribe his failure to lead this country to his personal shortcomings and incompetence, both of which were legion.

But over the years I have been unable to be that generous in my evaluation of him.

I wish he would have just gone away. Well, he was really the first President to not “go away” after he left office, so...it is my hope that Trump refuses to go away, and gives it to them for the next four years in spades.

Like the judiciary rule, I always hoped they would see the error of their ways, but they aren’t capable of it.

Exactly! Carter should at least concede that we are the only republican democracy in the civilized world that allows people to vote without an ID.

That was one of the things that his own report said should be changed to ensure the absence of fraud.

I will always consider Jimmy Carter the worst president ....ever!

Gas lines, Iran captures and holds our citizens for a year, interest rates to buy a home up near 18%....the WORST.

And he’s upset with Georgia.

Yeah, time for him to go away.
