The $1,400 stimulus included in President Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID relief package isn’t the only direct payment families could receive.
The American Rescue Plan passed by the House includes changes to the child tax credit. The plan includes $3,000 per child ages 6 to 17 and $3,600 per child under age 6.
The payments would last for a year, though Democrats are pushing to make them permanent.

All my friends are hard working conservatives and few have children, meanwhile it's pretty common to see a welfare mother in Walmart with six or seven kids trailing behind her. Unwed mothers already make a fortune in welfare benefits, this just adds more money to their haul.

Where is this $1.9 Trillion coming from? And where is it going? 10% for the big guy.
$3,600 is the equivalent of more than 12-weeks of pay at minimum wage and a 40-hour work week.
If you presume this will be non-taxable, it’s actually more. So, we’re - once again - incentivizing people not work. What could possibly go wrong?

My wife has been supporting her shiftless daughter (35 never had a job) and her professional student SIL. I mentioned this to her as it looks like they will be piling in another 8K, non taxable. I hinted perhaps you should consider mentioning they need pay part of their rent.
She said her SIL will be done with his AA degree in a few months at which point he should land a decent paying job in nursing. I said so consider this, when he does and you drop the rent payment, they don’t qualify for food stamps, and you stop paying for sundries like car insurance (and a car when the time comes), do you seriously think you are going to be able to retire like you are planning?? I said the over under on your work future is 5 years at which time you will be 70 or dead.
