The $1,400 is not taxable.
$140.00 to church and charity (including FR!) would be an appropriate response!
I am sure they will be doing another round in the coming months. I don’t see this ending until maybe next year???

Seems that the $1,200 in 2020, and the $1,400 in 2021 may be “refundable tax credits” that can turn a tax bill into a tax refund:

Government does not work weekends or any other day for that matter!!
Nope- this is the golden goose that lays the golden eggs for them- they will milk this for everythign it’s worth to pad and line the pockets of their friends and pet projects-

Much of the money from the relief bill is going into public employee pension funds and local governments in blue states.

By summer stimulus 4 will be on deck for that $2000 we will need, then by fall to winter #5 will be going. It will be endless, just go on and give $2000 a month for the rest of the year.
Good for them. I am one of those ‘paper people’, and when I checked that website to see when I would get McConnell’s handout of $600.00, the website said I will get that in May of this year.

It is officially classified as a "tax refund," and it is distributed by the IRS.
You don’t need a “tax bill” to get the money. It is simply not even considered income and it is not offsetting anything.
Will they be using those money cards they sent to some of us last time instead of the direct deposit? No telling how much they paid to the company that issued the cards. Then there was the hassle to transfer the cash from the card to bank account since with Covid rules no one can go inside the bank, and drive through teller could not process the card so I had to make appointment with the bank to go inside.
